BYLAW ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION TO FAPIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Thank you for expressing your interest in joining FAPIA’s leadership team on the Board of Directors. Our Bylaws contain eligibility requirements that must be met in order to be considered for a position on the FAPIA Board of Directors. Bylaws are the written rules by which an organization is governed. They set forth the structure of the board and the organization. They determine the rights of the participants and they determine the procedures by which rights can be exercised. In other words FAPIA’S Bylaws guide the board in conducting business. They are carefully crafted and adhered to in order to help ensure fairness of the board decisions and to provide protection against legal challenges. The eligibility requirements are outlined below. Please check to make sure you meet these requirements before you apply. If you are not eligible at this time, we ask that you re-apply as soon as you meet the requirements outlined below. Article X, Board of Directors, Section 2, states: “A member of FAPIA in good standing is eligible to be considered for a position of the Board of Directors after having been a member of the organization for a minimum of three consecutive years: a public adjuster for five years; and having served on a FAPIA committee for one year.”
